Yup, the Duke proved just how capable a machine it is. However, I think I am right in saying the Duchess had problems on the run (I've got injectors in my head but I may be wrong) which certainly didn't help. Having said that, the Duke may have won the battle against the clock but the Big Red Machine won the day overall if for no other reason than the soundtrack she produced on her way up Shap.

That sound from 7325 is not something you like to hear.

Top notch footage. Shame about Mayflower failing, I hear it was because a wheel spring broke at Coton Hill. I was on the platform at Shrewsbury when the return leg pulled in with 47828 instead of Mayflower, lots of disappointed faces but unfortunately not much can be done, a few diesel fans seemed quite satisfied with the substitution at least

This month in may betton grange is coming to the Severn valley railway for running in slightly after the spring steam gala

Great to see a rake of Mark2 coaches again but honestly, Why use Class 66 locomotive? There are so many interesting locomotives that could be used such as Class 56 coal merry go round. The network is stuffed with Class 66. Is it because this is a steep climb to its destination?? I note that there are two class 66s on this special which is unusual for a class 66 when hauling freight?

What absolutely top-class footage, I enjoyed every minute of it. Apologies if this is a bit of a daft question, but do you need a lineside permit of some description to access the location just south of Northwood Halt at 3:05? It looks a brilliant spot that I'd like to try out myself but I never managed to get an SVR lineside permit before they discontinued them a few years back

Seat K12. The first place you show at Bedlinog and going up has a lovely rough rock cutting that I filmed out of the window. It reminded me of a narrow gauge steam line, maybe if it closes it could become that. By the way no criticism (this is my favourite video of those posted) you only have sound on the left channel.

Great coverage of this tour Ger, Di and I were on it in the coach in front of the choc and cream coach on the way up and behind it coming back down. You can see me in the first window after the choc and cream coach as it left the Nelson Branch at Ystrad. We had a wonderful day.
